Could Daisy Ridley become the new Batgirl?

That’s the rumour that’s buzzing around Gotham City like a Batarang at the moment, linking the soon to be very available Daisy Ridley with the role of Batgirl in Warner Brothers new Birds of Prey big screen project.

She’s certainly got the chops for the role, and the skills to inhabit the Bat suit, but another aspect to consider is that it could reunite her with the director who cast her in The Force Awakens, J.J. Abrams.

J.J. might be in the news right now for co-writing a Marvel character – Spider-Man – for a 5 part mini series, but if Abrams and wife Katie McGrath accept the $500 million WarnerMedia offer that’s on the table to bring Bad Robot across, what’s to say he won’t dip his toes into the DCU and have a hand in landing the Bat role for Daisy?
