Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover have spoken about the support, relationships, and reactions to their versions of Han Solo and Lando Calrissian from the original actors – Harrison Ford and Billy Dee Williams.

“He has seen it, and I haven’t talked to him, but I hear it was very positive, that he really liked it a lot,” Ehrenreich told Yahoo Entertainment at the film’s Los Angeles press day. “Which means a lot to me, and means a lot to all of us who worked on it.”

On the very next day, Ford surprised the actor while he was in the middle of an interview with Entertainment Tonight. So clearly the 75-year-old screen legend is feeling supporting of Ehrenreich’s efforts. (Previously, the two had only met once, over lunch.)

Glover gushed over the texting relationship he’s developed with Williams, who attended last week’s Hollywood premiere.

“We’re on a text level, we’re on emoji level,” Glover laughed. “He’s just a cool guy, really sweet, and suave.”

And he, too, approved. “He sent me a text and he said, ‘You did great,’” Glover said. “I was like, ‘Aw, I did it. Billy liked it!’ That was all that mattered, to me, anyway.”
