1. Dude. Hot Toys have sold their souls once again. Have you seen the newest Hot Toys, specifically “Boba Fett with Throne?”
Freakin’ amazing! He’s sitting in what remains of Jabba’s dias that Bib Fortuna repurposed. His armor is freshly repainted (although I personally prefer the battle-scarred look) with his Tusken Raider jammies. He’s got his rifle and Mandalorian armor but no Tusken Raider gafferdi stick. That’s okay, though. All of the photos show Fennec Shand in full armor and sniper rifle. Guess she’s coming later. You can even pop off the helmet and see Boba’s scarred face instead.
2. War of the Bounty Hunters is in full effect! As you may know, I’m a full-on TPB-waiter so I don’t usually collect the individual comics. But I do keep up to date on my comic information! I know the War title itself will get an individual TPB, so that’s really neat.
What I’m really enjoying is all the old characters they’re bringing back. Tasu Leech from The Force Awakens in his younger days, and of course, Qi’ra coming back as the head of Crimson Dawn! The August issues of the comic show Imperial wanted posters for our various characters except the mysterious “Jango,” really Boba Fett all dressed in black, wanted “by the Kanji of Nar Shadda for the death of Wyrmen Lictor.” Which isn’t playing very fair since Boba won that gladiatorial battle fair and square, in a fighting pit.
Let me get back to Qi’ra. I’m loving the cover for her, wanted “For crimes against the Empire” for a measly 50,000 credits. I guess since Maul died on Tattooine, Qi’ra’s been running what’s left of Crimson Dawn way behind the scenes and now with Han Solo in carbonite, she sees her big chance to get the ol’ criminal organization back up to the big leagues. Her Wanted poster just reminds me of her original Solo poster. Did Qi’ra age that much?
3. Speaking of comic book covers, the Action Figure Variant covers always are collectible, valuable and super popular. Hopefully, John Tyler Christopher will think outside the box and just put out some awesome variant covers. Qi’ra, Deathstick, etc. Using characters that never had an action figure before (or recently) would be cool.
4. Is it me, or did the latest episodes of The Bad Batch make Ryloth and Hera very…French?
5. I also can’t wait for the behind the scenes special on the Luke Skywalker reveal on The Mandalorian! One whole special on just that moment, it’s the kind of stuff I live for! Kind of like wanting to see Robert Rodriguez’s live-action animatic using his kids, costumes and action figures. August 25!
