BEWARE SPOILERS: Just like with the previous Disney Plus series, we at Fantha Tracks will be offering our own episode guide for your entertainment! Here we will post every reference, Easter egg, everything named and unnamed per episode and some fun trivia in-between that we have spotted.

Chapter 1: The Dark Revenge

Official summary: In the criminal underworld of Janix, Maul enacts a plan to consolidate his power.

Trivia

Once again there are a couple of changes to the opening titles. This time you can see the helmets, or droid faces of: An Episode II clone trooper, Ezra’s repainted Imperial Cadet helmet from Rebels, Bucket from Resistance, Tech from The Bad Batch, the Eleventh Brother from Tales Of The Jedi (who will also appear in this series), Barriss Offee’s inquistor helmet from Tales Of The Empire, C-21 Highsinger from The Clone Wars, Marrok from Ahsoka and Two-Boots, the new character from this series.

We open on Janix a new city planet in the Mid Rim Territories designed for this series. It is influenced by similar planets like Coruscant and Nar Shaddaa, but also Gotham and Metropolis. We were also getting a Blade Runner vibe in this opening sequence.

In the heist we see one of the first returning characters: Rook Kast, who appeared in The Clone Wars season 7, and before that in the comic Son Of Dathomir, based on unmade episodes of the series. She is once again voiced by Vanessa Marshall, who is not the only Rebels cast member to appear in this series.

She is joined by a group of Mandalorian Supercommandos and a pair of Dathomirian Nightbrothers called Icarus and Scorn. It is Icarus who uses the rotary blaster cannon.

The rows of credits stacked together look like both the ones from the Aldhani heist of Andor and the At Attin mint from Skeleton Crew.

Spybot, the droid working for Maul is voiced by David W. Collins. Which makes it a nice return of the Collins/Witwer twosome from The Force Unleashed. In that game, Collins voiced PROXY, a droid working for Witwer’s character Starkiller.

Aurebesh on the responding cop, Officer Pak, reads TDF, what stands for Tactical Defense Force. The official site reveals that the TDF is part of the Janix Civil Defense, which is the organization that oversees all law enforcement and peacekeeping on the planet.

Making an entrance to Duel Of Fates yet again, Maul appears. He steps out of a Kom’rk-class fighter.

Maul’s lightsaber was last seen falling down into Mandalore after his duel with Ahsoka. It is said that Rook Kast and her forces managed to retrieve it for Maul, who made some modifications to it and is now again seen to be using it.

Jedi Master Eeko-Dio Daki and his Padawan Devon Izara are new characters, with Master Daki also being a new species, a Mosyk. He is voiced by Dennis Haysbert in his first Star Wars role. He is known for many roles like President David Palmer in 24. His Padawan Izara is voiced by Gideon Adlon, who previously appeared in the GFFA as Pak Relda in Young Jedi Adventures (which you can watch above on Star Wars Kids).

Despite his optimism regarding the kindness of strangers, Master Daki gets cursed at with the well-known “E Chu Ta”.

While unnamed, the fruit cart vendor is a Didynon. Originally the vendor was to sell meilooruns, but they were changed as they were too big for Devon Izara to conceal.

Captain Brander Lawson arrives at the scene of the theft. He is the other new main character of the series and voiced by Wagner Moura. His partner is 2B0T, but they refer to him as Two-Boots.

Nico Deemis is the Gran bank owner and crime lord. Among his entourage we see the usual suspects of evil-orientated alien species: two Trandoshans and an Aqualish.

Talking about your often returning Star Wars underworld, Maul name checks the Pykes and Crimson Dawn as well. Especially the latter we hope to see more of in this series.

Like any good cop, the desk of Lawson always has a cup of caf within hands reach. Even when he is away from his desk, a caf is nearby or in his hands almost all the time as a recurring joke. Also on the desk is a family portrait. It shows his son Rylee and his wife Drea. But more about them in the next episode guide.

The Aurebesh on the datapad with Maul’s facial recognition result reads ‘Classified’, as the dialogue makes clear.

After waffles, cereal and noodles, this episode introduces the Star Wars galaxy to another real-life food item: a dish inspired by chicken parmigiana, as seen to be eaten by Looti Vario and Deemis.

Vario is an Aleena.

Chobasa is a new toast, but we had a similar word in Huttese, Chobaso which means Welcome.

The Shadow Collective is mentioned by Vario, which was Maul’s criminal empire that he has lost at the end of the Clone Wars. Krim, Maul’s target for revenge is Marg Krim, the Pyke Syndicate leader who was part of the Collective.

When the Spybot hacks into the police station system there are two lines of Aurebesh that you can read. One saying “Target Tracer” and another reading “debug computer”.

The end credits reveal how almost the entire cast are returning voices. We list them with the main character that they are known for, but often they have done many more:

* Ben Diskin (AZI-3 from The Bad Batch) as both a henchman and police officer.
* Chris Diamantopoulos (M-6NK in Jedi: Survivor) as Looti Vario.
* Christopher Swindle (Sty Trune and Apexx in Young Jedi Adventures), as the Police Droids.
* Dave Fennoy (General Pong Krell in The Clone Wars) as Scorn.
* Helen Sadler (Doctor Scalder in The Bad Batch) as Bank Supervisor Droid.
* Jonathan Lipow (multiple roles in various series) as Vendor and police officer.
* Dee Bradley Baker (all the clones in The Clone Wars) as customer and henchman.
* Richard Ayoade (Q9-0 in The Mandalorian) as Two-Boots.
* Steve Blum (Zeb in Rebels and The Mandalorian And Grogu) as henchman and Icarus. His son Brandon is new to Star Wars voice acting, but played Officer Pak in the opening scenes.
