The Rise of Skywalker garners nominations at the 2020 BAFTA Awards

We’re heading into awards season and ILM, Skywalker Sound and Star Wars are in the mix with a handful of nominations at the 2020 BAFTA Awards.

GFFA related films have done outstandingly well, with Taika Waititi nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay for Jojo Rabbit, Adam Driver nominated as Best Actor for Marriage Story along with Laura Dern who was nominated as Best Supporting Actress. Michael Giacchino gets a nod for Jojo Rabbit, while casting director Nina Gold in nominated for Two Popes. ILM are nominated for Avengers: Endgame and The Irishman with Dominic Tuohy nominated for Oscar frontrunner 1917.

The Rise of Skywalker grabbed 3 nominations. John Williams for his magnificent score, ILM in the Special Visual Effects category and Skywalker Sound for Sound.

Best of luck to all involved, and be sure to watch the 2020 EE British Academy Film Awards on 2nd February at the Royal Albert Hall.
