While the magic of Star Wars originated from the business  end of George Lucas’s number 2 pencil, what we saw on screen was the efforts of hundreds of craftsmen and women who worked diligently to bring that vision to the big screen. At the forefront of that group effort is the work of ILM, and in this video from Corridor Crew, in what is basically a VFX version of Penn and Teller Fool Us, looks at some great effects shots from over the years including some ILM classic moments from Contact and The Force Awakens.

The Crew is joined by VFX legend Andrew Kramer as they react to some of Hollywood’s zestiest CGi moments: What makes a visual effect bad? What makes one great?
