To quote a great band, it’s been a long and winding road but finally the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art has found a home in Los Angeles. George Lucas and his wife Mellody were there today to break ground and kick off the build phase of the project, which will see the building open in 2021.

The newest saga from legendary filmmaker George Lucas is a departure from his classic film franchise. Lucas broke ground on a new museum in Los Angeles with his wife, Mellody Hobson. It’s the future home of the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art.

When the museum is finished in three years, it will house much of their art collection of around 10,000 pieces. John Blackstone spoke with them at their Skywalker Ranch.
