The Creator: Gareth Edwards and his Reddit AMA

It’s a brave soul that sits down to do a Reddit AMA and invite the world to ask them literally anything, but that’s exactly what director Gareth Edwards did when he took to his keyboard and took questions on The Creator, Rogue One, Godzilla and much more besides.

Ill_Potential5194: Hey Gareth, is there any interest in doing another Star Wars movie and if so would you want it to be stand alone in a way like rogue one was? Insanely excited to see a medium budget sci-fi movie not a part of an existing IP btw!

GE: I had a great idea for a sequel to Rogue One, but was absolutely gutted to find out that George Lucas had already done it… nightmare.

Q: You’ve worked on Godzilla and Star Wars, some of the most well known IP ever. While it’s great you’re doing your own stuff (always applaud original works these days), do you have any other dream IP you’d love to adapt?

GE: Definitely! I actually developed 3 different films in between Rogue One and The Creator. Two of them of would be regarded as IP, I can’t talk about them or they might not happen. But the owners of the IP know I’m wanting to do them so fingers crossed I guess. Happy for you to take some guesses at what it might be?

Check out the full transcript of the AMA here, and stay tuned for our review of The Creator coming to Fantha Tracks at the end of the month.
