While the primary function of Fantha Tracks is to cover as much Star Wars news as we possibly can, we’re also very much invested in the wider works of Lucasfilm, especially that other great trilogy (and a bit), Indiana Jones.

While the fifth instalment is heading our way on 9th July 2021 – written by Solo: A Star Wars Story co-scribe Jonathan Kasdan – there’s absolutely no reason not to step back almost 40 years to 1980 and the filming of one of the greatest films of all time), Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Based on George Lucas’ 1973 concept The Adventures of Indiana Smith, Raiders was released 12th June 1981 the film went on to gross $389,925,971 worldwide, and remains at number 21 on the inflation adjusted list ($809,287,100 domestic in todays coin).

Here we take a look at some of the outtakes and deleted scenes from the shoot. Prepare for 8 minutes and 13 seconds of laughs and revelations. You’ll be amazed at how many times Spielberg leapt in front of the camera.
