There were a number of Star Wars connections to this weekends Royal Wedding between Prince Harry and Miss Meghan Markle – now the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Obviously Harry himself was on the set of The Last Jedi and rumoured to cameo as a Stormtrooper in the film itself but the ties to Star Wars go a little further.
The wedding dress was from Givenchy and designed by Clare Waight Keller, whom also previously designed The Force Awakens premiere dress of Daisy Ridley.
In addition to Markle’s gown, Keller was the creative force behind a number of designs for other celebrities. Daisy Ridley stepped out in a Chloe dress for the “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” premiere. Singers such as Adele and Florence Welch were all fans of the designs during Keller’s tenure at Chloe. Apple even tapped Keller to create a fashion-based playlist for Apple Music thanks to the memorable playlists utilized during Chloe’s trips down the runway.
Star of the video game Battlefront II, Janina Gavankar, who played the character Inferno Squad Commander Iden Versio is a close friend of Meghan Markle and was a guest at the ceremony.
Also at the ceremony was Rogue One actor Felicity Jones, but we have been able to find any photographs of her in attendance.
And thanks to Amy H. Sturgis for pointing out that Gina Torres, Ketsu Onyo from Star Wars: Rebels, was also in attendance.
