The Un-produced Toys Of Episode 1, “The Phantom Toys” Display
At the time of its release, a phenomenal deluge of licensed merchandise was launched covering every product area thought possible. The toys associated to the film release were among the most popular and even though it felt like toy shelves at retail hit critical mass, not every idea or concept made it to toy production.
Some ideas never made it past concept sketch proposals, others almost to the point of full-scale manufacture. To help celebrate the 20th Anniversary, Fantha Tracks will exhibit many of the un-produced toys and ideas of The Phantom Menace, with the display rotating each day.
Exclusive to Fantha Tracks we will be giving away original Star Wars Adventures artist Nick Brokenshire designed postcards, themed around The Phantom Menace.
Nick has designed postcards focused on Padme, Darth Maul, Jar Jar and Qui-Gon and as you can see they look amazing!
Nick Brokenshire is a comic book artist from Aberdeen, Scotland who lives in the North of England. Nick is a writer/artist for IDW’s STAR WARS ADVENTURES, including stories that feature IG-88 and MAX REBO. As well as being the co-creator/artist/colorist of THE ONCE AND FUTURE QUEEN (Dark Horse) and AMELIA COLE (IDW); Nick has also worked on stories and covers for 2000AD, JUDGE DREDD (IDW) and ROBOTECH (Titan). When he is not working on his most recent graphic novel SHE’S NOT THERE with Ellis Bojar, Nick is the guitarist and singer in the increasingly popular BLUES HARVEST, known for their genre and movie-centric party tunes.
In order to get a limited run postcard (only 1000 of each have been printed) from the booth, you need to show us that you are following Fantha Tracks on any one of the following social media platforms – Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest or Tumblr, or show that you are subscribed to Fantha Tracks Radio or TV, or that you have the Fantha Tracks App installed. There will be a different post card each day on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday with any that are remaining being available on the Monday.
Also keep your Social Media notifications on, as at some point during the show Nick will pop over to the booth and you may be lucky enough to get him to sign your cards in person.
Want to know how you can get a full set of the postcards? Find out later on in this article.
Play Your Cards Right / Card Sharks
If you don’t use a particular social media platform you can still win a postcard. Take part in our special Star Wars variation of the game Play Your Cards Right, also known as Card Sharks in the USA. Players must guess if the following card is higher or lower than the current card. Five correct guesses in a row will win them the postcard that’s available on that particular day.
Take a picture of him and show one of the Fantha Trackers at the booth and you will get one of just 200 limited edition badges…… (just like Zuvio, once they’re gone, they’re gone!)
Guests at the booth
Make sure you have your Fantha Tracks Social Media notifications on as you never know who will be dropping by the booth to say hello. To give you a taste of just what to expect, here are a couple of previews.
Skywalking Through Neverland – The HOOJIB HOP meet-up!
The ears will be flapping and the show floor will be bouncing as they embark on their traditional non-st(h)op tour of the show floor! A sight that must be seen to be believed….
The Vintage Rebellion Live at the booth
Our friends at the Vintage Rebellion will be joining us on the booth on Sunday at 2.00pm for a special hour of content on the booth, bringing their vast knowledge of the vintage collecting era of Star Wars to booth #1248.
If you have any vintage questions you’ve always wanted answering, be sure to drop by and meet the team.

The Effect And Influence Of The Palitoy Company On Star Wars Toys
Our own Dave Tree will be presenting a panel on the Collecting Stage on Saturday 13th at 1.30pm on the effect and influence of the Palitoy Company on Star Wars toys.
By the time Star Wars was released in the U.K. The Palitoy Company was already the number one powerhouse in the boys toys retail marketplace.
Whilst the divisions within The Palitoy Company were granted the opportunity to distribute the Kenner products (Palitoy, Denys Fisher & Chad Valley), it wasn’t as easy as just repackaging the toys, many changes and compromises were required in the U.K. market early on which led to unique variations and, in some cases, creating new product.
This presentation takes a look back at those challenges, the highs and lows, the successes and failures that all contribute to one of the most coveted areas of international Star Wars vintage collecting.
Fantha Tracks is part of the Podcast Meetup on Saturday night.
Where: The Arc Bar at the Hyatt-Regency at McCormick Place
When: Saturday, April 13th, 2019
Time: 7:30 pm to whenever our Republic credits run out
Why: We want Star Wars podcasts and their listeners to get together and share the joy of this saga and fandom together!
Not going to Celebration?
If you’re not able to attend Celebration then not to worry. One of the primary purposes of our booth is to ensure that there is plenty of content generated for those who can’t make it to Chicago, so you can see things from a fellow fans perspective. We also encourage you to interact with us on social media as much as you can over the weekend, so we can virtually ‘bring’ you to Celebration!
Make sure that you follow Fantha Tracks on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, Tumblr and on our YouTube channel Fantha Tracks TV so you can be part of the Star Wars Celebration experience, wherever you might be in the galaxy.
Meet The Fantha Tracks Team
Look out for our distinctive gold, gray, black and white shirts and if you see any of us, be sure to stop and say hello.
