Gwendoline Christie is joining the cast of the live action adaptation of The Sandman, the iconic DC Vertigo comic from Neil Gaiman. It’s not known what role she will occupy as yet, but any cast is boosted by her boundless energy and style, making the show one to watch.

Gwendoline Christie is well-known for starring in Game of Thrones, The Hunger Games franchise, and perhaps most notably for her role as Captain Phasma in the Star Wars Sequel Trilogy and other Lucasfilm media such as Star Wars Resistance and Battlefront 2. She most recently starred in Searchlight’s The Personal History of David Copperfield last year.

Tom Sturridge, known for Sweetbitter and The Hollow Crown, is the only cast member to be officially confirmed so far. He will play the main role of Dream, also known as Morpheus, in The Sandman.

It is currently unknown who Gwendoline Christie is playing in the series, but Desire and Death are yet to be cast, meaning she could be playing either of those characters. Christie is no stranger to the visionary creator of Sandman Neil Gaiman, having recently worked with him on a new radio adaption of his The Sleeper and the Spindle novel during Christmas.
