Irish media outlets have announced the premier date for JJ’s new horror/thriller movie Overlord will be at IFI Horrorthon in Dublin on October 25th ahead of the US premier in early November.

Warning potential spoilers ahead.

Overlord tells the story of a team of American paratroopers who drop into Nazi-occupied France on the eve of D-Day to carry out a mission that is crucial to the invasion’s success.

They must destroy a radio transmitter atop a fortified church.  To help them succeed, the desperate soldiers join forces with a young French villager.  With the youngster’s help, the G.I.s penetrate the walls and take down the tower.

But terror strikes them after they discover a mysterious Nazi lab beneath the church.  The soldiers outnumbered when they come face-to-face with enemies unlike any the world has ever seen.

The IFI’s Horrorthon Assistant Programmer Mick Fox is delighted to air Overlord as their first screening.

Press images are certainly showing gruesome scenes which would fit right into The Walking Dead for their graphic nature.
