Mark Hamill is returning to the horror genre – and yes, the image below is from his comedy turn on What We Do In The Shadows – in new Netflix show The Fall of the House of Usher, starring alongside Frank Langella, Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell and Carl Lumbly. Hamills characters is described as “a character surprisingly at home in the shadows.” No name for his role as yet, but certainly one to watch.

The streaming platform will be airing The Fall of the House of Usher, based on the short story (and others) by renowned horror writer Edgar Allan Poe. The show has been created by Mike Flanagan, who is also responsible for another one of Netflix’s popular horror series, The Haunting of Hill House.

Flanagan tweeted about the show, saying: “This miniseries is a modern remix of some of the most iconic works of Edgar Allan Poe. To tell this epic tale of greed, horror, and tragedy, we have assembled the largest ensemble cast in the history of Intrepid Pictures.”

Alongside Hamill, the creators have also cast Frank Langella, Carla Gugino, Mary McDonnell and Carl Lumbly.
