The Cassian Andor series nears its filming date, as pre-production continues, the cast grows and directors begin to be attached to the project. The popular belief was that the series would be filming in the UK as Rogue One was, but Discussing Film believe that Cassian will shoot in LA, much like The Mandalorian, which will apparently see one of its directors – Rick Famuyiwa – direct for the show.

We have learned that Rick Famuyiwa is in early talks to direct an undisclosed amount of episodes for the upcoming Disney+ ‘Cassian Andor’ series. Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk will reprise their respective roles of Cassian and K-2SO and Stephen Schiff is attached as the showrunner for the ‘Rogue One’ prequel.

Rick Famuyiwa is known for directing ‘Our Family Wedding’ and ‘Dope’, he is expected to direct ‘Past Midnight’ for Netflix and The Russo Brothers which will star Keanu Reeves as a superhero.

The Cassian series reportedly starts shooting 7th October, ahead of the launch of The Mandalorian on Disney Plus in the States on 12th November. No word on when it will reach the UK and the rest of the world, and it will be interesting to see if the Star Wars series are available on launch.
