Anyone who has visited the island of Skellig Michael, one of the locations used to create Ahch-To in The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi will likely be well aware of The Moorings. Situated on the south-western coast of Ireland, it’s famous for its hospitality, fantastic food and a certain Jedi Knight who once pulled a pint of Guinness.

Take a trip over to The Moorings website, where you can book your room and boat ride out to Skellig Michael itself.

The Skellig Michael boat trips are one of the most mysterious and enchanting of our local attractions around the Skellig Rocks. These floating pyramids of sandstone have been home to some of the earliest monastic settlements in Ireland as well as providing sanctuary to fantastic numbers of bird life in the area.

Filming of Star Wars The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi took place on Skellig Michael. This amazing boat trip not only allows you to take a closer look at this beautiful UNESCO site but also hear the stories from the staff at The Moorings about the time Star Wars came to Portmagee.

All Trips are weather permitting.

If you are interested in more information, start a conversation with Brian Cameron and Matt Booker in the thread below. Brian and Matt were among the very first fans to visit the island a couple of years ago and can give any potential visitors the inside track.
