Several Star Wars games have been reported to be in ongoing development. Some have even been announced as nominations for The Game Awards 2026, including Galactic Racer and Fate of the Old Republic. On the other hand, some are still teased and aren’t yet confirmed about how long it’ll take for them to finish.
Waiting for updates on some of these projects can be nerve-wracking. It’s similar to those learning how to play online poker for money, where timing and uncertainty are part of the experience rather than guarantees. There were also a few cancellations done before, such as Star Wars FPS.
If you’re excited to see what the new titles coming to the market are, here are the known upcoming projects.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer
Star Wars: Galactic Racer will feature an exciting racing game set in the Outer Rim of the galaxy. The Empire is gone, and players get to see the galaxy mid-rebuild. This includes how the Galactic League is created, showcasing adrenaline-filled underground races filled with strategy, champions, and gambling.
Your journey starts with you building your status among the elite league. The game allows you to take control of various classes of repulsorcraft, each with unique playstyles and physics.
Galactic Racer will be story-driven, focusing on a single-player campaign. There’ll be action-packed PvP races, where players will see underground circuits to race on.
Star Wars Zero Company
Star Wars Zero Company is still in ongoing development under Bit Reactor studios. Lucasfilm Games and Respawn Entertainment are also involved in the making, and EA will be the publisher.
Zero Company is a single-player turn-based tactics game that will also happen in the Star Wars world. You’ll play in the twilight of the Clone Wars as Hawks, a former Republic officer who’s also the leader of Zero Company.
Hawks, alongside the Zero Company, will be tasked to stop an emerging threat that can potentially destroy the entire galaxy. There are unlikely allies you’ll have to make along the way and work together to face the upcoming danger. This is the second Star Wars game coming soon, playable on PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X|S.
Star Wars Eclipse
Eclipse was first teased during the 2021 Game Awards. Since then, there’s no update regarding the fate of the game. Rumors said that the game might hit the market in 2026. There’s no confirmation regarding this rumor so far, so it’s not clear how long fans should wait for it.
So far, what the public knows is that the developer behind this game is Quantic Dream, the one sitting behind Detroit: Become Human. It’ll be a branching narrative-adventure game taking place during the High Republic era. There’ll be areas to explore, uncharted regions of the Outer Rim. Casting for the characters was said to be finished, so all fans can do is wait for an official announcement.
Skydance New Media’s Project
Amy Hennig, who’s best known for her Uncharted series, has just created a new studio under the name Skydance New Media. The studio had bagged several big projects with Disney and will also hop onto a Star Wars project.
The thing about Skydance New Media’s hopeful release is that it’s likely that players won’t be able to see the result for a while. They’re still developing another game, Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra, which has been delayed and will have its release in 2026. So far, the new project is described as a cinematic action-adventure showcasing an original story.
Star Wars Jedi 3
Jedi 3’s release date is still unknown to this day. However, Respawn Entertainment and EA have announced that development is already in the works. The only concern is that the director of Jedi Survivor and Jedi Fallen Order, Stig Asmussen, left Respawn Entertainment in 2023.
This makes some people worry that his exit may change this third installment. For the official announcement, there’s no confirmation yet about the release date. Judging by the lack of trailers, it’s likely that fans still need to wait for a while.
Other Upcoming Titles
Besides the titles listed above, there are some other upcoming titles. Knights of the Old Republic 2003 will get a revamp. The trailer was released in 2021, but the progress of the development is still unknown to the public. Zero36 Studio, Lucasfilm Games, and CCG Lab had also joined hands to create a new digital collectible card game available for mobile and PC.
The last upcoming game is Fate of the Old Republic. It was flaunted at The Game Awards 2025 and is one of the most anticipated releases in the franchise. It’s a narrative-driven action RPG, focusing on immersion and dynamic plot changing based on players’ choices. However, it’s still in early development and is expected to be released before 2030.
