While the final moments of Rogue One saw Jyn Erso’s days end on the shore of a Scarif bay, actress Felicity Jones has made it clear that not only was her Star Wars experience a positive one, but that she’d be open to a return to the galaxy and the character. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter she explained her position.

“I just keep saying that reincarnation is totally possible in the Star Wars universe. (Laughs). So, I feel there’s unfinished business for Jyn, for sure. I think it would be fascinating to see her getting older and wiser and fighting the dark forces in the universe, of which there are many it seems.”

She also discussed the issue of equal pay, very much a relevant point for an actress who played Ruth Bader Ginsberg, a flag waver for equality.

“In that case, I was fairly paid for what I was doing and was fairly championed, and that’s also a testament to the people that I work with who had fought on my behalf as well. And I was very lucky that it wasn’t an issue.”

Remember, we have the Cassian Andor series revving up very soon, and while it’s set 5 years before Rogue One and is therefore half a decade before Jyn’s finest moments, she was out there in the world, surviving on her own, a key player in the future of the galaxy. Perhaps the right storyline could see Jones return to the role one more time.
