Whilst already being a noted director with credits including episodes of Better Call Saul, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist, her work on The Mandalorian impressed Lucasfilm so much that they offered Deborah Chow the big chair on the forthcoming Kenobi series on Disney Plus. That in turn has swung her into the sights of Marvel who are apparently eyeing her up for some work on the big screen in the MCU and MCU Cosmic have the details.

According to one of my most reliable sources who always hits the mark, Marvel Studios has been talking with The Mandalorian‘s Deborah Chow about multiple potential projects they have in the pipeline. She’s no stranger to Marvel, as she directed episodes of Jessica Jones and Iron Fist, but this would likely be something much bigger than those Netflix shows. This is similar to what Marvel does with any director with recent a success, as they met with the directors of Bad Boys For Life not too long ago about various possibilities.

No specific project was mentioned, but one huge possibility is 2022’s Captain Marvel 2. There have been previous reports that Marvel was considering Michelle MacLaren for the movie, meaning they were looking for a woman to direct it, and Deborah Chow definitely has the VFX science fiction experience after The Mandalorian. Of course we can’t rule out the possibility of a Disney+ series, such as the Secret Invasion one that’s reportedly in development.

If she ends up doing something with Marvel Studios, it would be after the Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series is complete. That show, which is being described as much bigger than The Mandalorian, is set to begin pre-production later in the fall before filming begins in January.
