It sure looks like R5-D4, and despite having a bad motivator could it be possible that we’re about to see the return of an old friend last seen on the sandy seas of Tatooine? Jon Favreau shared this image of a battered astromech from The Mandalorian, and it’s got us all misty eyed and nostalgic.

Just like the phlutdroid posted a few weeks back, this might not be the original R5-D4, but how cool would it be if it is. Why not, he had adventures in the old Star Wars Tales story, and we know from the wandering days of R2-D2 and C-3PO that droids can cover significant ground under a variety of masters. Maybe we will learn more at Celebration.

(Rumours that Richard Hutchinson was spotted today crying with joy cannot yet be confirmed)
