While Star Wars: Starfighter continues the early stages of production at Pinewood, Oscar Isaac is on the promotional trail for his new Guillermo del Toro directed adaptation of Frankenstein and at last weekends Toronto International Film Festival he was asked about the potential of returning to the GFFA alongside his Drive co-star Ryan Gosling, a question which elicited a somewhat sarcastic response.

During a recent interview at the Toronto International Film Festival to promote his new movie, Frankenstein, Isaac was asked about his potential return as Poe Dameron in Star Wars: Starfighter, which is coming to theaters on May 28, 2027. ET asked Isaac if he was interested in a reunion with Ryan Gosling — the two worked together on 2011’s Drive — to which he replied, “Star Wars, right? We’ll see. I mean, yeah! I’m ready for it. You let me know when.” It’s important to mention that there is more than a hint of sarcasm in Isaac’s voice, and he could be well aware that there is no role for him in Starfighter.

Don’t be fooled into thinking Poe means no; we’ve seen plenty of stars cutely avoid announcing their returns, so stay tuned, just in case.
