The visuals and designs of Star Wars are iconic, but so are the sounds, and Adam Savage digs into this equally important pillar of the saga and the work of Ben Burtt and Skywalker Sound in his latest video filmed at the late, lamented 32TEN Studios.

While in the original THX theater — where Return of the Jedi was mixed! — Adam Savage sits down with Academy Award-winning sound designer, film director, editor, screenwriter and voice actor Ben Burtt, the man behind the iconic sounds you know and love from the Star Wars franchise, from R2-D2’s beeps and boops to Chewbacca’s rrrruuurrr to Darth Vader’s heavy breathing. What’s YOUR favorite Star Wars sound?

NOTE: This video was filmed before 32TEN Studios was closed permanently, and its contents auctioned off. More interviews conducted by Adam in this iconic building are forthcoming
