Polish fans gathered at the EC1 complex in the city of Łódź over the May holiday for the third annual Starry May (“Gwiezdna Majówka”) – an event that turned the former power plant into a temporary hub for Star Wars culture. The program moved away from rigid schedules, allowing visitors to explore various thematic zones independently throughout the day. Attendees participated in lectures covering the internal politics of the Star Wars universe and recent organizational shifts within Lucasfilm, while organized RPG sessions led by experienced Game Masters took players through scripted scenarios such as the “Rodian Blitz“, “In search of crystals” and “Escape from the Iron Star“.

Physical workshops offered training in lightsaber fencing and specialized demonstrations in a VFX studio, while younger participants engaged in LEGO starship construction. A major highlight occurred in the afternoon when a cosplay competition drew crowds to see fans display detailed costumes, followed by “FamilYoda” – a Star Wars-themed trivia game modeled after classic Polish TV quiz show “Familiada”.

Throughout the day, members of the Rebel Legion Eagle Base were present for photographs alongside board game stations and a comic book reading room. The event concluded with a specialized combat demonstration by the SaberArts Academy, which served as the finale to a day of diverse fan activities.

The event concluded by solidifying its place as a regular fixture of the city’s cultural calendar, utilizing the industrial setting of EC1 to bridge historical architecture with modern pop culture.
